St. Dominic’s Rosary Ministry at SJC

St. Dominic’s Rosaries Ministry was formed September 2021, with the blessing, encouragement and approval of the Very Rev. Joshua Caswell. The devotion of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius towards the Restoration of the Sacred has profoundly inspired our hearts, leading us to the practice of the handmade rose petal rosaries. We joyfully invite you to come and experience this community of faithful and devoted volunteers. We meet every Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in The Café.

St Martha's Guild at SJC

The St. Martha’s Guild is a group of parishioners who are working to restore the art of Liturgical needle crafts. In addition to taking care of any mending needs of the parish, members are learning vestment restoration, lace making and repair, several types of embroidery, gold work, fine linen stitching and many other sewing techniques. They are working to revive these waning art forms, and to provide training and support to other embroidery enthusiasts who believe it is important to invest significant effort into items used in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Peter & Paul Young Adults at SJC

Peter and Paul is a group of Catholic young adults, ages 21-35, who seek to ‘Restore the Sacred’ through prayer, service, social events, and participation in the sacraments. We strive to build a strong community in Christ by sharing our talents and gifts with each other and the Church. We come together as Catholics, “sharing one mind and heart” Acts 4:32, to encourage each other in our faith journey. We meet weekly on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for the chanting of Compline followed by a spiritual talk and/or social activities at 7:30 p.m. in the cafe below the church.

St. Paul Street Evangelization at SJC

The Mission of the St. John Cantius chapter of St. Paul Street Evangelization is to respond to the mandate of Jesus to preach the Gospel by taking the Catholic Faith to the streets of Chicago. The St. John Cantius chapter of St. Paul Street Evangelization is seeking interested parishioners who would like to share their faith on the streets of Chicago, witnessing to the beauty and richness of Catholic truth in a loving, non-confrontational manner. We will offer free rosaries, prayer cards, medals, CDs, and invite people to consider the Catholic Church. We will pray for people.

St. Joseph Men’s Prayer Guild

The Guild is designed to help men of all ages realize what it means to be a Catholic man today and strives to establish a community based on mutual respect while praying with other men, giving spiritual guidance, support, and love in times of need. The St. Joseph Guild provides an atmosphere where men can unapologetically be men and discuss issues without shame or judgment. The men work to achieve these goals through prayer after the 8:30 a.m. Mass on the second Saturday of every month, followed by reflecting on St. Joseph and discussion of problems and solutions.
