Group Formation

ICSJ Scripture Study Group

Throughout the year, members of the ICSJ Parish community gather for lively discussion designed to help them grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures while deepening their understanding of the riches of our Catholic faith. This fall, ICSJ’s Saturday Scripture Study Group invites you to watch and discuss The Chosen: Season 5—The Last Supper on Saturday mornings from 9:30-11 a.m.! We meet over Zoom, so you don’t even have to leave your house or change out of your pajamas to participate.

Group Prayer

ICSJ Prayer Connection

Knowing that someone is praying for you is a comfort—praying for the intentions of others is an honor (as well as a spiritual work of mercy!). The ICSJ Prayer Connection is a gathering of parishioners who, upon receiving prayer requests via the Prayer Request Form below, pray for people here in our parish and all over the world. The group prays either individually for these prayer requests, or together during their daily Holy Rosary Zoom gathering.

KnitWits Knitting Ministry

KnitWits is an ICSJ parish ministry whose members knit and crochet baby blankets, hats, and other handmade comfort items for children served by Children’s Place Association, a Chicago organization that supports children and families in need. Through this long-standing partnership, these handmade items are shared with children in Children’s Place programs—offering warmth, comfort, and a meaningful expression of care. KnitWits meets once a month, usually on the third Monday. Come for the whole gathering or simply drop in when your schedule allows. New participants are always welcome!

ICSJ Migrant Ministry

As a Catholic parish committed to the Gospel’s call to welcome the stranger, we recognize the urgent need to support migrants and refugees in our community. Chicago has seen a growing number of individuals and families seeking safety, stability, and opportunity, yet many face challenges in accessing basic necessities, legal assistance, and education. This is the spirit in which ICSJ’s Migrant Ministry serves.

ICSJ Refugee Ministry

The ICSJ Parish Refugee Ministry is dedicated to welcoming refugee families as they arrive in America and walking alongside them as they adapt to a new country and culture. The group has been diligently working with the Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program, RefugeeOne and Exodus World Service. Since 2017, ICSJ has welcomed 10 wonderful families and continues to support and maintain friendships with 7 of them!
