St. Charles, Missouri

Sts. Joachim and Ann Parish was established by Archbishop John L. May in June 1981, with Father Robert Leibrecht as founding pastor and some 800 families drawn mostly from St. Joseph in Cottleville and All Saints in St. Peters. The founding parishioners chose Saints Joachim and Ann, the parents of Mary, at their first Mass on July 26, 1981, which turned out to be the saints' feast day. They first worshiped in the Fairmount School cafeteria; the parish school opened in 1983 and the church was completed the following June. A Parish Center with gymnasium followed in 2006, and the church was rededicated in 2021.
