Fifteenth Annual McHenry County Catholic Prayer Breakfast

Crystal Lake, Illinois

St. Thomas the Apostle is 'a Catholic family, living our awareness of Christ's presence through worship, service, evangelization and community for the benefit of all.' The parish traces its roots to 1846 and a log mission church at North Barrens west of Crystal Lake; a frame church on Pierson Avenue followed in 1881, and St. Thomas became a separate parish in 1905. Today it worships at the Oak Street and Pierson Street churches, with Masses in English and Spanish, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School, the Holy Hearts Adoration Chapel, SPRED, and groups such as the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
