St. Katharine Drexel on Dugan Road is a "picturesque parish in the country" in Sugar Grove, established by Bishop Thomas G. Doran in October 2008 as the first new parish in the Rockford Diocese since 1989. Parishioners first gathered for Mass at John Shields Elementary School until St. Anthony Chapel was dedicated on December 1, 2012, and a rectory was added in 2020. The parish offers Family Faith Formation from kindergarten through high school, adult faith formation, Walking with Purpose women's Bible studies and weekly Eucharistic Adoration. Inspired by its patroness's joyful spirit, it seeks to foster "a welcoming, caring and faithful Catholic community."
