Hombres de Emaús - Retiro para hombres que crecen en la fe

St. Charles, Missouri

St. Charles Borromeo traces its roots to 1791, when a French log church at Jackson and South Main Streets was dedicated together with the town under the patronage of St. Charles Borromeo, and the first recorded baptism followed in 1792. A stone church on North Second and Decatur Streets and a brick church consecrated in 1872 followed as the congregation grew with German, French, English and Irish immigrants. After a 1915 windstorm destroyed the brick church, Archbishop John Glennon laid the cornerstone of the present church on April 16, 1916. Today the parish offers Masses in English and Spanish, a full-time school and a Parish School of Religion.
