About St. Bridget Catholic Church
Loves Park, Illinois
St. Bridget, at 600 Clifford Avenue in Loves Park, began in 1946, when its first public Mass was celebrated in a tent on the Feast of the Assumption. With roots among both Swedish and Irish Catholics, the parish took the name St. Bridget of Ireland, spelled in the Swedish manner. Its first church opened in 1956 along with the school, and the present church held its first Mass on October 30, 1988. St. Bridget's mission is to invite all people to find a place to belong, encounter the Lord in Word and Sacrament, and joyfully bring the Gospel to others; it has a PreK–8 school and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
